MAID 101 FINAL POST

As most college students would tell you their number one priority while attending school is to devote hours of time to studying and enhancing their education in their respected classes. It would be very rare to hear someone say they came to college to clean their room and not study. No longer would this be an issue as MAID 101 continues to develop into the cleaning company of the college dream. No longer will a student have to sacrifice vital study time to wash dishes or figure out how to change a vacuum bag. MAID 101 is ready to help the consumer with all cleaning needs. From its launch at the beginning of the semester and development over the past several weeks, MAID 101 is set to put its name on the target.

As introduced as a beginning entrepreneurship idea MAID 101 carried along with it several aspects that needed further work. Dealing with any company that conducts business online one of the biggest spots of concern is with security and how to use personal information so that it does not leak to the public. As many college students across the country and a younger generation transition to online shopping it increases the number of users that provide credit card information, addresses, and more to retailers and services. It is crucial in customer service to assure the customer their information will be secure. MAID 101 has consistently established its beliefs on providing the best software and security to its customers to maintain positive customer relations. One careless mistake and this company can fall victim to improper usage or obtain viruses and identity theft.

There can never be enough attention and emphasis put on the importance of advertising an idea. MAID 101 will consistently use Facebook and Twitter to promote the business as well as inform followers to special promotions and discounts. Setting up promotional venues on campuses and passing out pamphlets about the business will also attract attention and potentially increase sales. Another thing MAID 101 hopes to continue to develop is a customer feedback section where customers can give comments good and constructive in order to keep things the way they are or improve for future use. Customers are what keep a business open and without them MAID 101 would not be in existence.

One major development piece for the future of MAID 101 is the hiring of employees and the pricing involved in both supplies cost as well as how much to charge for cleaning the rooms. In order to make a profit in this industry the cost of cleaning a room must be higher than the cost of the materials needed and other expenses. Buying cleaning supplies is expensive but with proper shopping from distributers of janitorial products should be relatively easy to find for the right price. It is also an added bonus that the same supplies can be used in multiple rooms such as sprays, dusters, vacuums etc. Pricing is something that should be determined based off competition and the demand for the service. Room rates will start at $25 for a basic cleaning once a week and increase in price as custom additions are tacked on. Package deals will also be determined such as $65 for three cleanings a week or $100 for a 7 day package. These prices are current estimates and are not final hence are subject to change as the business continues to grow.

Overall I am pleased with the development and progress MAID 101 has had over the course of this project. There are many components in this industry that must work together to be a success. The first comes with coordinating the time a room is supposed to be clean with the correct address and billing information of the client. The next is making sure that employees communicate with the client to assure it is okay to enter their room and they are not violating any security practices. MAID 101 is meant to be a service to provide relaxation and ease to the client to not lift a finger again to clean their room. From cans on the floor to dust on the shelves MAID 101 is here to provide head to toe in depth cleaning of the college dorm.

  1. This idea could work, but I think you'd need to expand your base to make a profit. As a whole, college students are not known for being flush with cash. Relying on our demographic to make money isn't a great idea. Instead try to be as inclusive as you can. Why not extend marketing towards home owners as well as adults living in apartments?
